Intel's next generation of Xeon® processors, based on Sandy Bridge-EP microarchitecture, is creating genuine excitement with new features and performance levels. As a member of the Intel Intelligent Systems Alliance, Dell has been working closely with Intel on their 12G PowerEdge™ platforms which combine Intel® Xeon® Sandy Bridge architecture with standards based platforms. Because of their relationship with Intel, Dell is able to offer even more products with extended life capabilities using Intel embedded CPUs.

Purpose Built NEBS Certified Solution
Ideal for packet processing solutions like DPI, encryption/decryption, lawful intercept, traffic management, and security gateways. The solution starts with an industry-leading Dell R-710 server and GE Intelligent Platforms OCTEON-based PCIe IP packet processor card. UNICOM Engineering customized the platform to meet NEBS Level 3 requirements, tested and validated packet processing cards for interoperability, and modified the power, thermal, filtration and rail design. The completed solution features redundant -48V DC power and retains all Dell system management features.
