The Intel Xeon Scalable Processor Family is a direct follow-on to the E5 and E7 lines, with a change in nomenclature for unification and scalability. The Intel Xeon Scalable Processors going forward will now carry four precious metal names -- Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum -- in conjunction with numbers and letters to designate specific integrations and optimizations. Intel Xeon Scalable Processors deliver increased performance across a wide range of workloads, support for an all-new non-volatile memory architecture reducing latency and eliminating loss, optional integrated Ethernet networking, built-in Intel® QuickAssist Technology (QAT) accelerators, and next-generation high-speed Intel® Omni-Path architecture fabric option. With all these revolutionary changes and more, Intel Xeon Scalable Processors are poised to be the biggest microarchitecture update from Intel since the 45nm Nehalem.
UNICOM Engineering Releases New Servers with Intel Xeon on Board
UNICOM Engineering is expanding its Intel Xeon processor-based appliance platform portfolio with the launch of the E-1800 R5 and E-2900 R5 dual processor server platforms. These rack-mount, pre-integrated platforms use Intel® Xeon® Gold 6000/5000 Series Processors and are engineered for applications that deliver compute, storage, backup, security and enterprise network solutions. Compared to previous generation Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 series based platforms, the Intel Xeon Scalable processors can provide up to 4.2x higher scalability for virtualized workloads, integrated performance accelerators, and support increased I/O throughput to enable up to four 10GE connections per platform.
What can the UNICOM Engineering’s New Servers Do?
At a high level, the Intel Xeon Scalable Processors tackle the challenges created by the explosive growth of concepts like IoT, AI and analytics with more compute and I/O throughput. The new generation of UNICOM Engineering rack-mount servers are perfectly paired with the new Intel Xeon Scalable Processors to make full use of features such as NVMe focused storage, Intel® Optane SSDs built on 3D XPoint™ technology, next-generation Intel® Omni-Path architecture fabric, high-speed connectivity, and optional integrated Intel® Ethernet and Intel® QuickAssist Technology built-in accelerators. All of these features are built into the E-1800 R5 and E-2900 R5 platforms and work together seamlessly to address the needs of hybrid cloud and networking infrastructure, as well as video servers, storage solutions, network and physical security appliances.
The Customer Gains the Competitive Edge with Intel Xeon Processor
